Our Values

  • Safe to Soar

Stage Local believes in a safe, uplifting environment for all participants, regardless of age, race, background or ability. Because of this, we place a high value on safety. All actors, crew members and instructors over the age of 18 are background checked. Additionally, we provide handbooks for all participants outlining policies and procedures to keep all participants safe.

  • No Penalty for Participation

Because Stage Local is a performing arts company rooted in community, we understand that many participants have careers and responsibilities outside of the theatre. Because of this, we do not believe participants should be penalized for participation in our programming. Therefore, we do not charge tuition for participation in any main-stage Stage Local production. Additionally, based on the needs of participants, we provide childcare free of charge to adult actors in need, and are working to make sure every production includes Autism-friendly resources and performances.

  • Internships

Stage Local provides paid internships to students at Cumberland University persuring a degree in Musical Theatre. Students in the MT program at Cumberland receive real-world training while providing unmatched enthusiasm to the Stage Local community.
