“On Stage in Oz” Summer Camp 2025 - Ages 13-18
“Dare to Defy” is a camp designed for advanced training in the world of theatre. At this level, campers will receive more advanced instruction in acting, singing, and dancing while also developing specialized skillsets in areas such as stage combat, costuming and design, audition feedback and more.
JULY CAMP: In addition to advanced training, the Dare to Defy Camp July 7-10 will also serve as a leadership intensive for students in the arts. Students will receive two days of training, and spend two days mentoring in the arts with community organizations. This camp will allow students to witness barriers in arts education and involvement and serve as a positive catalyst for bridging the gap in the community. It is our hope that this camp experience equips students to be leaders as well as learners by providing advanced skills to instill the love of arts in others.
Our “On Stage in Oz” theme allows students to explore theatre fundamentals through camp curriculum developed based off of the widely-known novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum. Since its publication, it has served as the basis for many theatrical and cinematic works making it the perfect backdrop for learning new skills in familiar territory.
